Curtain Wall Manufacturer Implements iCenter 1.5 For Autodesk Inventor® To Reduce The Design Through Manufacturing Process By 30%

Contract Glazier was utilizing Autodesk Inventor® to generate accurate 3D models of their curtain wall systems. Autodesk Inventor® was doing a great job to quickly create the necessary parts and assemblies for engineers to analyze fit, form and function. Contract Glaziers realized it was taking engineering too long to generate all the necessary cut-lists and bill of materials for manufacturing once the 3D models where created. Project Managers also did not have a way to access bill of material information to view the current status of each project.
Contract Glaziers contacted the experts at Solid Caddgroup ( http://www.solidcadcam.com ) who recommended iCenter for Autodesk Inventor®. iCenter was able to extract the dimensions and parameters found within the Autodesk Inventor® drawings to automatically produce the many cut-lists and bill of material reports needed for manufacturing. Project Managers were able to collaborate on new projects by utilizing the iCenter Standalone Client to modify, view and print the necessary bill of materials without requiring a license of Autodesk Inventor®.
Rolando Cano, Engineering Manager at Contract Glaziers states that "iCenter has improved our design through manufacturing process by 30%. Our change process procedure has improved by 100% since we can quickly generate the updated reports for manufacturing." Cano goes on to state that "Project Managers are now able to view the status of each projects' bill of material in real-time, improving overall communication."
Netstream's iCenter application provides iProperties and Bill of Materials management to users of Autodesk Inventor® and to departments other than engineering who do not have access to the CAD system.
The iCenter application allows organizations to further structure the reporting and exporting of the Bill of Materials. Design data can now be easily shared with all other departments and downstream applications such as Document Management or ERP systems.
