Gerber Technology Launches WebPDM 5.0

Gerber Technology announced the release of WebPDM Version 5.0. This newest version of the leading integrated web-based product development management solution facilitates communication and accelerates the coordination of product development tasks by connecting design, engineering, costing, and manufacturing information through a centralized database of product-related information that is fully functional with only a web browser running on the client PC.

As a key tool supporting concurrent product development, WebPDM provides a unified view of specifications and product information, and a consistent means of accessing that information in "real-time" which helps to ensure the integrity and utility of this vital enterprise asset. With WebPDM, instantaneous collaboration is possible anywhere in the world - the same information can now be shared safely and securely with all internal offices, vendors and suppliers - enabling faster introduction of new products to market.

"Our technology has the potential to re-define the apparel business process. By managing the stages of development and maintaining a single version of data, our customers can fully utilize and protect their most import asset - their information," said Suzanne Auyeung, software product manager for Gerber Technology. "Gerber regularly holds Customer Advisory Board meetings and User Meetings to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our customers. WebPDM 5.0 is easy-to-use and seamlessly integrates with our customers' business software."

Enhancements in WebPDM 5.0 include:

•  Web-based application that is fully functional with only a Web browser running on the client PC

•  More graphical and intuitive browser interface for ease of training and ease of use

•  Capability to collaborate remotely in real-time - information can be shared safely with all internal offices, vendors and suppliers anywhere in the world at any time

•  Simplified interface to reduce steps in functions to reduce product development time and cost

•  Elimination of duplicate entries ensuring the integrity of data being used

Today, more than 1,000 companies in over sixty countries rely on Gerber's WebPDM. With more than 12,000 seats installed, the software supports over 22,000 individual users.

Gerber Technology continues to provide innovation with new releases that are available via Software Subscription Contracts and can be downloaded from GERBERnetT, the company's Internet-based customer service portal for software updates, replacement parts ordering and comprehensive technical documentation. Access to GERBERnet is provided via http://www.gerbertechnology.com . Software Subscription Contracts also provide users access to call centers around the world for further technical assistance.
