NavisWorks Announces Support for Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006

NavisWorks Ltd. announced support for Autodesk® Architectural Desktop 2006.

With Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006 architects can start working immediately with minimal training, and implement Autodesk Architectural Desktop at their own pace with the familiar working methods and user interface. NavisWorks JetStream is an affordable 3D design review solution that offers Autodesk Architectural Desktop users interactive visualization and interference checking to maximize the increased productivity and resulting production efficiency offered by 3D design software.

NavisWorks JetStream utilizes new features of Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006, including easier-to-create custom detail components, to remain the most effective solution for both CAD and non-CAD users to conveniently share, unite and review 3D design data regardless of its source. Design issues and interference errors can be detected and rectified before work commences on site, thus avoiding the expense of delay and reworking.

"By integrating with the latest features in Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006, NavisWorks JetStream delivers our joint customers a great tool for insuring new building designs meet customer expectations and avoiding design mistakes," said Jay Bhatt, vice president of Autodesk's Building Solutions Division. "We are pleased to have the strong support of NavisWorks for Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006."

"Autodesk and NavisWorks share a common goal of streamlining processes and increasing efficiency, so NavisWorks JetStream and Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006 are natural partner products," said Peter Thompson, managing director of NavisWorks. "As long-standing Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) members, we leverage Autodesk's ObjectDBX technology to offer the highest degree of compatibility with .dwg files, without the need for the original authoring design software."

Offering real time walkthrough, effective realistic and photorealistic visualization, interference checking and 4D project simulation. NavisWorks software can be used to review large models on a standard desktop or laptop PC by anyone involved in a project without specialist CAD skills or software.

The NavisWorks product range is localized in 5 languages and offered to end-users through a worldwide distribution channel of value added Business Partners and direct from leading developers of 3D CAD software as a preferred complementary product. NavisWorks products are customizable through a powerful application-programming interface (API).
