Liaison Technologies Completes First Phase of Real-Time Product Information Management and UCC Compliance for Forest Products Giant Weyerhaeuser
Liaison Technologies announced it completed the first phase of implementing an enterprise product information management (PIM) system for the Weyerhaeuser Company. Already more than 50,000 of Weyerhaeuser's products are loaded into the Liaison Enterprise Content Director and selected SKUs are available to internal and external trading partners through the Liaison UCCnet Services Edition. Weyerhaeuser, in conjunction with other major paper and pulp manufacturers, has ownership interest in Liaison Technologies.
"Through an extensive period of trials that started in 2004, Liaison Technologies' real-time PIM has proven it can help us reduce costs of product information management and improve our e-commerce and supply-chain offerings," said David Rea, IT Director, Pulp and White Paper at Weyerhaeuser. "After extensive use of the Liaison Enterprise Content Director internally for our Fine Paper business, we are now rolling this technology out to other Weyerhaeuser lines of business."
Liaison Enterprise Content Director is a real-time PIM solution that supports large product catalogs with multiple attributes for each item. Built for sharing data with trading partners, Liaison Technologies' PIM offering is delivered as a managed service and provides a combination of customizable workflows with a validation engine and active data repository. It is certified to support current UCCnet standards for data synchronization, including Hardlines and office supply extensions. Liaison Content Director applies adaptive intelligence techniques and powerful data manipulation rules that are proven to improve data quality.
"Liaison Technologies has demonstrated its commitment to developing UCCnet applications and has the resources to focus on the bigger challenge of data preparation and implementation," said Chris Vike, IT director of E-business at Weyerhaeuser. Vike points to Liaison Technologies' use of Web services to connect its real-time PIM solution to Weyerhaeuser's business line ERP systems as an example of the system's ability to add more value to the information already housed in existing critical enterprise IT applications.
"The requirements around master data and product information syndication are only going to expand, and with Liaison Technologies we are more than ready to handle these growing requirements without having to compromise the uniqueness of our own product information needs," adds Vike.
"We've built a very strong relationship with Weyerhaeuser by working closely with the company to understand its strategic objectives and to provide solutions that help meet these objectives," said Bob Renner, Liaison Technologies' chief executive officer. "The enterprise-wide adoption of Liaison Content Director is a true testimonial to how we have been able to help Weyerhaeuser extend outside their enterprise and keep their customers happy."
