Schick-Wilkinson Sword Selects SofTech's ProductCenter PLM ProductCenter PLM Collaboration and Visualization to Help Further Unify Global Operations to Expedite New Product Development, Release, and Manufacturing
SofTech, Inc. announced that its ProductCenterT PLM (product lifecycle management) solution was selected by Schick-Wilkinson Sword, a leading producer of consumer shaving products and a division of Energizer, Inc. ProductCenter will be implemented at Schick-Wilkinson Sword on a global basis to enhance the company's new product design and supporting manufacturing equipment development at facilities in the USA, China, Germany, and Venezuela.
"ProductCenter collaboration and visualization will simplify communications among Schick-Wilkinson Sword facilities, allowing for closer collaboration during new product development, and easier sharing and reuse of information, regardless of the application used to create it," states Ellen Stevens, senior project engineer and head of the Global PLM Selection Committee at Schick-Wilkinson Sword. "We expect improved multi-site design collaboration and smoother release to manufacturing of new products through ProductCenter's use."
Schick-Wilkinson Sword conducted extensive competitive research before choosing ProductCenter. In addition to getting the best value for a strong PLM feature set, one of the key decisive factors in its selection of ProductCenter was its ability to handle a mixed CAD environment. Schick-Wilkinson Sword was also impressed with ProductCenter's real-time collaboration and visualization components and SofTech's overall product development focus. Customer references were also very favorable, reiterating ProductCenter's ability to implement and deliver benefit quickly, as well as its exceptionally low cost of ownership.
Schick-Wilkinson Sword, a division of Energizer Holdings, Inc., ranks as the world's second largest manufacturer and marketer of wet shave products for men and women with two globally recognized brands.
