AVEVA Announces Viewpoint Americas 2005 VANTAGE Users Conference

AVEVA Group plc has announced that Viewpoint Americas 2005, the 16th annual conference for users of its VANTAGE® plant design and engineering lifecycle management solutions, will take place June 27-29, 2005 at The Astor Crowne Plaza, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Shell International Exploration and Production (Shell), is hosting this year's event. Shell has been an active Viewpoint participant since 1989.

"Getting Back to Our Roots" is the theme for this year's users conference emphasizing on the original core principles of the American user community and the engineering plant lifecycle process. "The Viewpoint Americas Conference is unique as it offers the one on one connection with the developers, the ability to network with other major companies and share ideas and challenges with the user community in a relaxed environment," said Mark Owen, Executive Chairman, Viewpoint Americas. The Viewpoint Americas conference agenda will feature presentations by VANTAGE Users, from major companies such as AMEC Paragon, KBR Halliburton, and DuPont, Viewpoint business and technical meetings, AVEVA-sponsored technical workshops, and a vendor trade show.

Attendees include Viewpoint's Executive and Technical Committees, from companies such as Aker Kvaerner, AMEC Paragon, BE&K Engineering, DuPont Canada/INVISTA, E.I. DuPont Nemours, Fluor Enterprises, Inc., KBR Halliburton, Merck and Company, and Shell International Exploration and Production (Shell).

Viewpoint Americas, formerly PUGA (PDMS Users Group of the Americas) is a non-profit organization open to all users of AVEVA's VANTAGE software solutions. Viewpoint was formed to promote a greater understanding of the use of AVEVA's solutions as well as work directly with AVEVA in developing future upgrades and improvements in AVEVA's VANTAGE suite of products. Its membership consists of Project Management, Design Engineering and Information Technology professionals from within the Chemical, Petro-Chemical, Energy, and Pharmaceutical industries, and is a mixture of Owner/Operator companies and Engineering/Procurement/Construction (EPC) firms.

Shell's research, development and deployment of technology for the Exploration and Production business of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies globally is managed by Shell International Exploration and Production.
