"Datranet Announces Successful Strategy Change for CAD and Product Design Data Communication and Collaboration Solutions"
Datranet Limited, the worldwide supplier of product design communication and collaboration solutions, has announced formally its successful change in business direction from being a CAD data related software reseller to a full blown developer and solution integrator.
In 2002 it started developing its own product design communication and collaboration solution called Fusion-DXT. The Fusion-DXT product line was launched in 2004 and has been a great success.
Fusion-DXT is designed to enable easy and secure access, communication and distribution of multiple CAD file formats and related design documents throughout global enterprises and worldwide supply chains. Customers report productivity gains in the region of 90% when using Fusion-DXT compared to using their former time consuming manual processes. Users of Fusion-DXT operate in supply chains in many industries including automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer products and telecommunications.
Since its launch, over 50 systems have been delivered in Europe, Asia and the USA. Major car, light vehicle, truck, aerospace and defense industry OEMs plus major suppliers to these OEMs have deployed Fusion-DXT products.
OEM customers include BAE Systems, Kenworth Trucks, Leyland Trucks, Lotus, MG Rover, Nissan and Peterbilt Motors. Supplier customers include Arvin Meritor, Calsonic Kansei, Collins & Aikman Automotive, Cosworth, CTS, Decoma, Denso, GKN, Hitachi, Leoni, Plexion, Prodrive, Ricardo, Senior Automotive, Southco, TRW and Yazaki.
As part of this change, Datranet has had to rationalize its software supplier business relationships. It now works with a reduced number of suppliers, especially in the area of CAD data viewing, translation and communication. Its preferred suppliers are now:
• Actify Inc-for SpinFireT CAD data viewing solutions
• Elysium Inc-for CAD data translation solutions
• Hungsberg AG-for Windows Odette OFTP solutions
• Schmitt Unternehmensberatung GmbH-for Unix Odette OFTP solutions
Furthermore, Fusion-DXT integrates with other CAD data software, including all the leading CAD/PLM systems i.e.:
• AutoCADT
• CADDST
• CATIAT v4, CATIAT v5
• I-deas NXT
• Pro/ENGINEERT
• Pro/INTRALINKT
• TeamCenter EngineeringT
• UGNXT
This means that Datranet has forged relationships with the CAD/PLM developers and resellers of the software above.
