Samsung Electronics Licenses Synplicity's ASIC Synthesis Software
Synplicity Inc. announced its Synplify ASIC® synthesis software has been adopted by Samsung Electronics Co. and may now be used by Samsung's ASIC customers. As a part of the relationship between the two companies, Samsung is integrating Synplicity's ASIC synthesis software into its ASIC design flow as a qualified ASIC synthesis solution. In addition, Synplicity has added Samsung as the latest member of the Synplify ASIC vendor support program.
"We believe the Synplify ASIC software provides our customers with a broad range of benefits, such as the tool's ease-of-use, QoR optimization functionality and its top-down design capabilities for multi-million gate designs," said Dr. Jeong-Taek Kong, vice president of computer-aided engineering at Samsung Electronics' System LSI Division. "We have evaluated the ASIC synthesis product through an extensive qualification process and now our customers can take advantage of Synplicity's ASIC software."

Samsung joins a growing list of ASIC vendors who support the Synplify ASIC software. Other members of the Synplify ASIC vendor support program include: AMI Semiconductor, ChipX, eASIC, Faraday, Fujitsu, IBM, K-Micro, MagnaChip, NEC Electronics, and Oki Semiconductor.
