Product Sight Search Powered PLM Certified for Autodesk Inventor 10

Product Sight Corporation announced that Product Sight Search Powered PLMT has been certified for Autodesk Inventor® 10 under the Autodesk Inventor Certified Applications Program. Certified applications are designed to meet strict development guidelines and have demonstrated the highest levels of robustness, quality, and interoperability with Autodesk Inventor. Certification is granted only after a product has been thoroughly tested by internal staff at Autodesk.

Product Sight Search lets engineering and manufacturing companies discover related information across the entire history of their Autodesk digital design data. A search powered approach has proven to be the fastest and most cost effective way to unify multiple sources of product data. Because the search engine works with existing data and information systems and automatically scans the corporate network inside the firewall, companies can deploy rapidly and see business results right away.

"Many companies using Autodesk Inventor have a large amount of existing design data in AutoCAD®, Autodesk® Mechanical Desktop®, and Autodesk® Vault, as well as other document formats such as MS-Word® and Excel®," said Bruce Winegarden, president and CEO of Product Sight. "Companies can more quickly leverage the business advantages of Autodesk Inventor by adding Product Sight's FindView® Search Engine to easily find related information across these multiple formats regardless of where it's located on their network."

Autodesk Inventor certification validates the following features and benefits of Product Sight Search Powered PLM for Autodesk users:

•  Find and share Autodesk Inventor files from anywhere on your network file system.

•  Search directly on any text, notes, attributes, or properties without relying on pre-defined meta-data to obtain meaningful search results.

•  Securely share Autodesk Inventor designs with other employees, partners, and suppliers without cluttering up e-mail traffic with attachments or creating uncontrolled copies.

•  Compare assembly structures from two different Inventor models or with bill of materials from separate ERP or PDM systems.

•  Search and coordinate with files managed in Autodesk Vault to create a worldwide virtual repository.

•  Extract Inventor assembly structures and convert to a managed bill of materials for manufacturing or configuration management purposes.
