Theorem Data Translators Selected By Webasto To Support Its PLM Strategy
Advanced data translators from Theorem Solutions have been selected by leading automotive equipment supplier, Webasto to provide fast and accurate transfer of CATIA V5 product models into the ProductViewT visualization application at five company locations world-wide.
Webasto's design and manufacturing sites in Europe, Asia, South Africa, the USA and Australia not only employ CATIA V5 as their principal design system, but also collaborate with automotive OEMs who frequently distribute product data to supply partners in this format.
The use of CATIA V5 is complemented by Webasto's Product Life Management strategy, which is based on PTC's WindchillT application, with ProductViewT as the company's visualization format of choice.
The ability to bridge the mix of software vendors' products by the complete and accurate transfer of CATIA V5 components, assembly data and 2D drawings into ProductViewT is a key requirement. In addition, the link between the two systems must be able to provide visualization data automatically as part of the product design release cycle.
Theorem's CATIA V5 to ProductViewT Adaptor has fully met these challenges. It not only achieves the required data translation and compatibility with Webasto's visualization system, but also dovetails with their data management philosophy through its Windchill compliancy. As a result, the customer has taken the decision to deploy it internationally at sites throughout Germany, France, Japan and the USA.
