PLM World and UGS Expect 'High Energy' Surrounding PLM to Generate Record Attendance at 2005 Users' Conference

PLM World, Inc. and UGS Corp. are expecting record attendance at the 2005 PLM World Conference being held on May 2-6 at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

PLM World, an independent non-profit organization, is dedicated to its mission to be the voice of the user for individuals and companies operating within the UGS product environment. Its annual users' conference, representing the world's largest PLM community, provides attendees with the opportunity to learn first hand about the future of PLM and UGS products directly from UGS representatives and other users from around the world.

"Thanks to the increasing deployment of PLM systems as well as UGS' continued success in the industry, our annual conference has grown rapidly over the years, and this year should be no exception," said Jim Wilson, chairman of PLM World. "With the high energy surrounding PLM today as well as the impressive list of speakers and content-rich agenda, we believe this year's conference will be the biggest and best ever."

The 2005 PLM World Conference will feature a combination of general interest sessions for all attendees as well as multiple breakout and free training sessions focused on a variety of special interest topics. Several presentations from UGS and customer executives will provide attendees with a strategic view of the PLM industry, the direction of UGS products and the practical benefits of real world PLM implementations

Tony Affuso, UGS' president, CEO and chairman, will kick off the UGS executive presentations and Dr. Randall D. Ledford, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Emerson, will provide a customer view point and serve as the keynote speaker on day one. Day two commences with a keynote presentation from Scott Adams, creator of the popular Dilbert comic strip, whose unique style of humor will complement the in-depth technical sessions.

Breakout sessions will be offered throughout the week providing detailed information aimed at improving the productivity and knowledge of technical users and managers. A variety of topics will be discussed by both UGS and customer presenters covering the broad range of functionality in UGS' product family including the Teamcenter® portfolio, NXT portfolio (NX, I-deas® NX Series, Femap®, NX Nastran) and TecnomatixT (including former E-factoryT) solutions.

A wide variety of free training sessions will also be offered starting on Tuesday and going through Thursday. Each of the 36 training sessions offered during this three day period will be 90 minutes in length and will cover the entire spectrum of UGS® products. Some sessions will be offered at multiple times to ensure attendees have maximum access to the most popular topics.

In addition to the wealth of information delivered through formal presentations, breakout sessions and training, many attendees experience the greatest benefit by networking with other users from around the world and sharing thoughts and ideas. Attendees include users, managers and executives from a wide variety of industries all sharing a common goal-improve productivity and innovation through PLM. With attendance expected to reach record levels, the 2005 PLM World Conference represents the ideal environment to discuss company challenges and stimulate innovative solutions.
