Latest Release of HOOPS® Component Technologies Announced by Tech Soft America
Tech Soft America (TSA) announced the immediate availability of the latest HOOPS 3D Application Framework (HOOPS/3dAF), HOOPS Stream Toolkit (HOOPS/Stream) and HOOPS Net Server (HOOPS/Net) component technologies.
The HOOPS components for graphics, streaming and collaboration are embedded within hundreds of engineering software applications from companies such as Autodesk, SolidWorks, Dassault Systemes, PTC, MSC.Software, Bentley, Proficiency, Fluent, Thermwood, COADE, KubotekUSA, Hitachi Zosen and ITI/Transcendata.
Some of the numerous customer-driven enhancements in HOOPS 12.0 include:
• 3D Studio Max plug-in for importing data into HOOPS-based applications.
• Direct3D Driver enhancements.
• Significant HLR performance and accuracy improvements.
• New Interface for seamless insertion of fully custom line and marker styles.
• Hardcopy Driver for Mac OS X platform.
• HOOPS/Stream Toolkit support for externally referencing images, including thumbnail images.
• New compression of HSF file dictionary via HOOPS/Stream.
• Performance enhancements for transparency and shadow rendering.
• Enhanced Text Region support-adding to HOOPS' rich handling of text data.
• New Platform support for Windows64 and Linux64.

HOOPS 3D Product Suite is a set of extensible, high-level components that simplifies the design, development and maintenance of high-performance, interactive 2D/3D applications for Windows, UNIX, LINUX, MAC OS X and Windows CE devices. HOOPS components provide the base infrastructure for building custom, high performance applications. Developers work from a high level to extend and customize the framework, taking advantage of the power of the underlying set of libraries. Rather than attempting to re-invent the vast functionality already encapsulated within the HOOPS product set, they can focus their development efforts on their true value-add.
