CoCreate 2005 Product Development Forum Focuses on Complexity of Working with Partners
CoCreate Software GmbH & Co. KG announced that more than 200 top managers, journalists and partners attended the CoCreate 2005 Product Development Forum held in Sindelfingen, Germany, April 5.
"With global competition heating up, everybody is looking at partnerships to cut costs and open up new markets," said CoCreate CEO, Bill Gascoigne. "What we're seeing now, however, is that a new level of project management complexity arises with these partnerships."
Attendees explored the challenges of working with partners in product development. Gascoigne and executive staff spoke about competing globally, managing complexity and new opportunities in emerging markets. Industry leaders, Liebherr, Woco, and DMT, described their company processes and managing global development complexity.
During breaks designed for interaction, attendees shared opinions and personal business challenges with each other, CoCreate executives and journalists. Participants found managing and reducing complexity are common high-priority goals requiring agile product development processes.
"In the future, success or failure will be determined by whether or not the complexity of working with development partners can be mastered," said Kurt Hartenbach, IT-Manager at SICK GmbH. "The forum provided valuable views we will test in our company."
"The forum made clear to me that working with partners in product development offers vast potential, but requires more than exchanging E-mails," said Georg Salzer, Manager at IWKA Balg- und Kompensatoren-Technologie. "CoCreate is well positioned."
In addition, attending CoCreate Design Competition 2005 winners received awards and recognition for their outstanding designs.
A busy exhibition area featured PLM applications and software solutions from 10 of CoCreate's partners, including Microsoft, Inneo, Acadis, ASCAD, alphacam, Borgware, CADFEM / ANSYS, Docware, MSC Software and Techsoft.
