Micro Stamping Deploys IFS Business Software to Support Production of Medical Device, Automotive Products

IFS announced that Micro Stamping Corp. has implemented IFS ApplicationsT business software at its headquarters and manufacturing plant in Somerset, New Jersey. The company is using IFS' supply chain management, financial, and sales and marketing applications to support high-volume contract manufacturing of high-precision metal stampings and secondary assemblies. Micro Stamping's products include medical implant devices and automotive component parts and assemblies.

"IFS Applications is a state-of-the-art system that will help us to improve organizational efficiency and maintain competitiveness while achieving our growth and profitability targets," said Frank Semcer, Sr., president of Micro Stamping Corp. "As an integrated solution, IFS will improve efficiency by eliminating duplicate entry of data and transactions, providing easy access to timely and accurate information across the enterprise, and improving analysis and decision support. In addition, IFS' mixed-mode capabilities will support our diverse business processes."

"We're pleased to offer Micro Stamping a business solution that ideally meets their needs," said Cindy Jaudon, president and CEO of IFS North America. "Micro Stamping is a mixed-mode manufacturer that has a leading position in both the medical device and automotive industries. IFS Applications offers specific functionality for both industries, and its advanced mixed-mode capabilities are one of the features that set it apart from other offerings in the enterprise software market."

The medical devices and automotive industries are two of IFS' targeted market segments. IFS Applications includes standard functionality needed to comply with complex FDA regulations as well as fully integrated device lifecycle management that reduces costs and improves time-to-market, replenishment processing, and cross-operational communications. IFS' medical device solution offers comprehensive support for mixed-mode manufacturing and supports requirements of 21 CFR, Part 11 (electronic records and electronic signatures), and the Quality System Regulation (21 CRF Part 820), including device master records (DMR) and device history records (DHR). IFS customers in the medical device industry include Thoratec, Alden Products, Aircast, MED-TEC, Neuropace, NxStage, Value Plastics, and Neoventa.

IFS' automotive solution provides the right tools for managing the interaction between automotive dealers, automotive OEMs, automotive suppliers, and subcontractors in networks of varying complexity. Many leading automotive companies are using IFS' automotive solution, including Volvo, BMW, Land Rover, MG Rover, Scania, and Nolato.
