OSIsoft Enhances Key Products
OSIsoft, Inc. announced key enhancements to its Sigmafine, ProcessBook and RtAlerts products. These enhancements further build on integration efforts within the RtPM Platform, specifically delivering greater data reconciliation capabilities, an email notification mechanism and enhancements to its industry leading, real-time graphical interface to manufacturing data.
With this release, Sigmafine's modeling and visualization capabilities are completely integrated into ProcessBook. Building and maintaining models within ProcessBook allows the data within Sigmafine models to be easily integrated with other information available from the RtPM Platform in ProcessBook displays or within Microsoft Excel. Users can now stay within the familiar ProcessBook environment and use validated data from Sigmafine to make more informed decisions. This information can trigger notifications within RtAlerts so that users can be immediately made aware of potential problems and opportunities without having to manually check specific ProcessBook displays or build custom alerting mechanisms.
"At QNI, we've used Sigmafine and ProcessBook in many ways within our operations, from tracing product quality to justifying Six Sigma process improvement projects," said Dave Hunter, Group Leader of Metallurgical Accounting, QNI. "The RtPM Platform has accomplished more than we set out for it, and we've easily achieved an initial rate of return (IRR) on our investment within three and a half years."
OSIsoft's Sigmafine is the RtPM Platform's data reconciliation and data validation package within RtAnalytics. Sigmafine validates production information, verifies data quality, detects gross errors in measurements and helps produce clean, consistent, reliable data. New enhancements to this package include advanced statistical data reconciliation and validation tools, a reconciliation engine to perform mass, volume and component balancing, and measurement maintenance tools that make it easy to prioritize instrument maintenance. In addition, yield accounting functionality has been added to Sigmafine. This functionality is essential for reporting receipts, shipments, inventories and production data when companies pass products between facilities.
OSIsoft's ProcessBook is an easy-to-use graphics package that allows users to create dynamic, interactive graphical displays featuring real-time PI System data. New enhancements to ProcessBook include module-relative displays, trend enhancements, time zone settings, layered displays as well as single sign-on support and RtWebParts interoperability. These advances enable users to transform raw data into useful real-time displays and monitor plant processes from any desktop PC or the Web. Customers use ProcessBook to be constantly informed of their plant's operating status and ensure the most efficient and consistent production of the highest quality products throughout the manufacturing process.
OSIsoft's RtAlerts product is a recent addition to the RtPM Platform. Using RtAlerts, users can immediately be made aware of potential problems or opportunities whether they are at their desk or on the road via email or paging. RtAlerts is designed so that end-users can set up their own rules for tag monitoring and notification, lessening the burden on systems administration.
"Given the changing dynamics of today's plant, enterprise and market conditions, customers demand agile, flexible products that can easily capture data from anywhere in the organization," said Michael Saucier, vice president of Marketing, OSIsoft. "The enhancements we're announcing today enable our customers to more quickly act upon information to further drive operational and business efficiency."
OSIsoft delivers performance management software to the world's leading process manufacturing, life sciences, and utility companies. With more than 10,000 installations worldwide, OSIsoft's real-time data platform crosses IT and process boundaries to incorporate and display operational information.
