CoCreate Demonstrates Support for Microsoft's Peak Performance Initiative at the Global Automotive Summit

CoCreate Software, Inc. announced its support of Microsoft's Peak Performance Initiative at the 2005 Global Automotive Summit. The Peak Performance Initiative identifies four core areas that Microsoft and its partners will focus on as they drive insight and innovation throughout the automotive community.

CoCreate's OneSpace.net software is built especially to support product developers who work across multiple sites and with multiple partners. With this kind of collaborative design, the knowledge and opinions of customers, suppliers and manufacturing partners can all be integrated into product designs and components. As a result, companies in the automotive industry create more successful products using lower-cost parts and more efficient manufacturing techniques.

OneSpace.net combines design engineering expertise with Microsoft technologies for a cost-effective and easily deployed solution-perfect for companies that work with disparate CAD software, data management systems, and partners.

"Automotive suppliers design more products and components for new vehicles every year," said William M. Gascoigne, CoCreate CEO. "This growing responsibility brings a new level of complexity to coordinating projects. Suppliers now have to think about international design and manufacturing locations and meeting faster project schedules with lower costs as automotive manufacturers cut development cycles. OneSpace.net offers the automotive community a collaborative PLM application for working effectively across the supply chain-helping companies overcome the challenges of distributed design while increasing the performance of new product development."

The Microsoft Peak Performance Initiative is designed to help the automotive community accelerate insight through advanced analysis services, drive innovation by allowing teams to better collaborate, and impact performance via increased visibility into operations across the manufacturing value chain. Based on extensive research and feedback from partners, customers and industry experts, Microsoft's Peak Performance Initiative provides an innovative and cost-effective approach that allows automotive customers to take full advantage of their legacy investments while connecting key systems, people and organizations across the automotive supply chain to remove the barriers that stifle innovation and competitiveness.

"Collaboration across the automotive manufacturing value chain is driving innovation further, lowering costs, and ultimately providing consumers with better products," said Kyle Solomon, automotive industry manager for Microsoft Corp. "The Peak Performance Initiative is designed to provide a rich framework to support solutions such as OneSpace.net and its mission of erasing artificial boundaries that hinder the product development cycle."
