Cimatron Finalizes Educational Deal With The Korea Chamber Of Commerce And Industry

Cimatron Limited announced the sale of 544 educational package seats of its Cimatron E, CAD/CAM solution, across eight development offices within the Korean Chamber of Commerce Institute, KCCI. The first training, for 31 instructors, was completed in February of 2005. A second training of Cimatron E is scheduled for July.

After an evaluation that included over seven other industry solutions, the KCCI chose Cimatron E for its ease of use and competitive pricing. Additionally, Cimatron's customer relations approach, in setting-up a good relationship with the KCCI, was also an important factor in the decision.

"Until now, the KCCI has been using software from a variety of other CAD/CAM software vendors," explained Sung Koog Lee, General Manager of Korea Cimatron Technologies Ltd. "In evaluating and consolidating their training on Cimatron E, the KCCI has made a choice to standardize its training on a product that is easier to learn and use, is more appropriate for the mid-size companies that the markets serves and, of course because of the cost-competitiveness of the overall solution and services that we are providing."

"A commitment to education has been and remains a long-standing company initiative ever since we began in 1982. Today, we are proud to say that the Cimatron platform is being taught at universities in 12 countries as well as professional development environments like the KCCI," explained Zvika Naggan, president and CEO of Cimatron. "The KCCI's program is exciting not only from a regional perspective but also from a larger, industry one, as well. By taking responsive steps from anticipated needs, the program is sending a positive message to its community that education of new skills is important and to the industry, it is confirming a commitment in best practices and quality of service."

In 1990, the Korean government put in motion a human resource blueprint in order to foster an industrial workforce able to respond to corporate demands. The government initiated the Establishment Project of Joint Vocational Training Institutes in order to provide the enterprises with qualified manpower.

According to Yong Man Kim, Director of KCCI's Human Resources Development division (HRD), Cimatron E was selected as their training platform "because it is important that our graduates go into the job market with the skills they need. Cimatron E is the most competitive product in the mold-making industry, especially for small to medium-size companies. We are committed to giving our trainees every advantage."

The KCCI's HRD division is responsible for over eight Human Resources Development Institutes from the "Korea Manpower Agency". These institutes are located in Busan, Incheon, Gwangju, Gyonggi, Gangwon (Hongcheon), Chungbuk (Okcheon), Jeonnam (Gongju) and Jeonbuk (Gunsan). Each has begun to conduct competency development courses in response to the demands of the nation's economic sector.
