INCAT Products Inc. Launches iCONNECTT at 2005 PLM World Conference

INCAT Products Inc. (IPI), a subsidiary of INCAT® International plc, announced the launch of iCONNECTT: Teamcenter Engineering Integration for Autodesk Inventor, at the 2005 PLM World Conference in Dallas. iCONNECT allows users to centrally manage design data inside an enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, within a familiar CAD environment. A Teamcenter Enterprise-to-AutoCAD version of iCONNECT launched earlier in the year.

iCONNECT positions IPI as an industry leader in helping users control CAD drawings and models within their enterprise system. The new connectors allow organizations to control, find, reuse and manage Autodesk data in a secure fashion, using the enterprise vault. Using iCONNECT, they can gain significant advantage by avoiding problems such as overwriting of designs, lack of history or inability to find and reuse existing designs. iCONNECT solves these problems preserving the business rules of the enterprise, for example, a complex part numbering system can be directly leveraged by iCONNECT.

"Traditionally, designers had to learn the rigors of a PLM system, in order to manage their designs centrally. iCONNECT changes that by taking a view partial to a designer," said Tanuj Bansal, IPI Managing Director. "iCONNECT combines the existing Autodesk Inventor interface with the power of UGS PLM and Web services. The result is a user-friendly, extremely easy to learn, but powerful connection to PLM."

IPI is positioned to build such connectors with the industry and marketplace knowledge and expertise, and the necessary technology OEM partnerships.

"Our product development process is customer-centric. We work closely with our customers to ensure that our products are easy to use and solve the right problems," added Bansal. IPI will feature iCONNECT in the INCAT booth on the show floor and will host detailed discussions at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily during the 2005 PLM World Conference.

"INCAT's combination of domain knowledge and comprehensive deployment capabilities positions our organization to capitalize on this important growth industry," said INCAT CEO Ulrich Herter.
