Open Text's European User Conference Breaks New Record with More Than 1,600 Participants

Open TextT Corporation said an overwhelming response to its European user conference, LiveLinkUp Europe 2005, resulted in a record attendance of more than 1,600 participants at venues in London, Munich, and Paris. The large turnout, along with 14 keynotes and 176 breakout sessions, made the event the largest European customer conference in the company's history.

Attendees reacted positively to the new solutions announced at the event, and Open Text's continued success at integrating IXOS Software, both at an operations and product level. A presentation on the company's new Livelink ECM Platform was well-received as offering a flexible foundation for customers to develop a total ECM strategy as their needs evolve. An open, interactive format for the event gave customers the opportunity to share their insights and questions with Open Text executives and product specialists.

"The feedback from our customers makes it clear that ECM is no longer a pure technology topic, but is seen as a mainstream business concept. In keynotes and breakout sessions, our customers presented their ECM strategies, based on Open Text's solutions, and showed how ECM can increase efficiencies, minimize compliance risks and enhance competitive advantage," said John Shackleton, President of Open Text.

LiveLinkUp Europe 2005 focused on all ECM-related topics including market trends, compliance management, and the business-critical integration between ECM and ERP. The customer keynotes included presentations by Airbus (Germany), the Dixons Group (UK) and SCNF (France). Open Text partners, including SAP, Sun Microsystems and Hitachi Data Systems, emphasized the importance of ECM for managing the entire lifecycle of all content, including ERP data.

Open Text also used the occasion to introduce new solutions and product integrations, including the Livelink ECM Platform, a secure, integrated framework that combines a common content repository with user, content and process services in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). The Livelink ECM Platform marks the completion of the integration of the IXOS archive with Open Text's Livelink. Open Text now offers a unified platform for a large number of different solutions, universal access to enterprise content, and a standardized user experience.

The company also announced the roll out of its new e-mail management suite and its support for the emerging Java standard governing content integration, called Java Specification Request (JSR) 170.
