PDES, Inc. Gains New Member, Eurostep

Eurostep has joined PDES, Inc., a government/industry consortium committed to accelerating the development and implementation of ISO 10303, commonly known at STEP. This international standard for data exchange is a way to ensure fast, reliable exchange and sharing of data among partners, customers, and suppliers. STEP enables interoperability, supply chain integration, web-based collaboration, long term archiving, and life cycle management, allowing manufacturers to reach new, higher levels of data quality and productivity while reducing costs and time-to-market.

As a leading STEP software and consulting company, Eurostep has for many years been very active in the development and implementation of STEP and other related standards such as XML. Håkan Kårdén, CEO of Eurostep Group says, "2004 was a very good year for us. Our flagship software product, Share-A-space, is rapidly becoming the leading COTS tool for engineering collaboration throughout a product's entire life cycle. Share-A-space users can be found in many industries on both sides of the Atlantic, from aerospace and defense to automotive and telecom. We are very pleased to be a member of PDES, Inc. Together with the other members, we should be able to continue the development and implementation of STEP, delivering bottom line value to the user community."

Bob Kiggans, PDES, Inc. General Manager, said, "We are very pleased to formalize our relationship with Eurostep. We have been working together on projects for many years, and we agree that Eurostep's membership in PDES, Inc. will strengthen our ability to deliver value to all involved in STEP."

Twenty-three PDES, Inc. member companies work together to develop and deploy STEP technology. The industry and vendor members represent over $500 billion in annual revenue. The government and university associates enrich the consortium's capabilities with their expertise and unique perspective on user requirements and validity of solutions.
