Elysium Spotlights Award Winning Feature-Based Translation Technology at SolidWorks2005

Elysium Inc . announced that its CADfeatureT translation software will be highlighted at SolidWorks2005 in Orlando, FL, January 28 to February 2, 2005 at booth #116.

CADfeature provides the technology to translate a CAD model's design intent, features and parameters from one CAD system to another. In addition to creating 3D geometric models, most CAD systems generate feature trees that can now be translated between dissimilar systems using CADfeature. Elysium's feature-based translation product enables designers to translate both geometric model data and the valuable individual feature information as well as design intent.

CADfeature translates feature information from Pro/ENGINEER, I-DEAS, Inventor, and UG to SolidWorks. The resulting translations in SolidWorks are fully functioning and editable models. The translated model behaves as though it was directly created in SolidWorks. Engineers are no longer faced with translations that result in unusable data, with having to recreate models, or with having to use unfamiliar CAD systems. In addition, legacy data can be fully translated into preferred CAD systems.

"Elysium has taken great efforts to create a flexible and extensible CADfeature architecture," said Abdul Shammaa, VP and CTO, Elysium Inc. "New features from CAD systems can be added to enhance the software in hours rather than weeks.

Also, the CADfeature viewer uses a multi-level verification process to review the results. The viewer allows the user to graphically navigate the results to pinpoint any differences between the source and target geometry."

Elysium will be exhibiting CADfeature along with additional translation products such as CADdoctor and CADporter. Visit booth #116 at SolidWorks World 2005.
