Huckerby Royall's Latest Jobshop Release Majors on Speed and Flexibility

Jobshop 9.2, the latest release of Huckerby Royall's comprehensive manufacturing software suite, provides major time savings and more streamlined operation, backed by the need for fewer data entry or command keystrokes.

Key features of Jobshop 9.2 include the ability to simplify the handling of parts that are cut to size from standard raw materials or sheets, without proliferating the creation of new part numbers for offcuts or part used materials. As a result, Jobshop 9.2 enables different values of length, area or other dimensions-as well as stock locations-to be associated with a single part number.

In parallel, the 'quickload' command in the latest Jobshop release includes the automatic generation of user-definable cutting lists-covering all types of materials and assemblies-along with the production of fully defined works orders, routings, BOMs, materials requirements, plan times, delivery dates and customer details; all at the touch of a button. Administrative input and lead times are therefore minimized, giving significantly improved responsiveness and manufacturing throughput.

A further enhancement in Jobshop 9.2 is the standardized definition and monitoring of purchase orders, which not only provides substantial time savings in tracking bought-out work through goods inwards, stores and inspection, but also in determining suppliers' 'On Time In Full' (OTIF) delivery performance.

The use of 'drag and drop' commands and Windows 'Explorer' type Treeview BOM displays enable the fast and accurate creation or checking of all levels of product structures, as well as instant updating of BOMs to accommodate customer-specified options.

Other time and cost saving features incorporated within Jobshop 9.2 include the ability to specify positive or negative MRP part offsets; allowing users to fine tune their inventory, call forward specific parts-bought-out components requiring inspection, for example-or delay the availability of items such as packaging materials, which are only required towards the end of the manufacturing process.

Huckerby Royall, along with Licom Systems, Radan Computational and Cabinet Vision Europe, are principal members of Planit Solutions, a division of Planit Holdings plc. The organization's product range encompasses design to manufacturing applications and Enterprise Resource Planning software solutions for companies operating throughout the metal, woodworking and sheet metal manufacturing sector. The group is a multi-million pound global business, with operations in Europe, USA, Taiwan and Japan, as well as a network of approved distributors and dealers throughout North and South America, Asia, the Middle East, South Africa and the Pacific Rim.
