SolidCAM2005 R10 launch at SolidWorks World 2005

SolidCAM2005 R10 will be launched at SolidWorks World 2005 at Orlando, Florida on Jan 30-Feb 2, 2005. SolidCAM is the de-facto standard Gold-Certified integrated CAM-Engine for SolidWorks. SolidCAM2005 is a totally integrated CAM solution in SolidWorks2005. SolidCAM2005 supports 2.5D/3D Milling, Multi-sided Indexial 4/5 axes Milling, Simultaneous 5 axes Milling, Turning, Turn-Mill and WireEDM. SolidCAM has the Certified Gold-product status from SolidWorks and provides seamless, single-window integration and full associativity to SolidWorks.

SolidCAM2005 R10 offers major enhancements in CAM functionality. The enhancements span most of the range of CAM modules in SolidCAM. In 3D Milling an improved strategy of Constant-Stepover provides a major new finish tool for high speed machining of complex surfaces. Also major enhancements has been provided in Pencil Milling strategy and in selected faces milling. The Turn-Mill module has been greatly extended to support the increasing use of 4 and 5 axes mill-turn centers such as Mazak Integrex and Okuma MacTurn.

Further enhancements of the flagship simultaneous 5-axes milling module in SolidCAM2005 R10, makes this powerful tool even more useful for customers. The simultaneous 5-axes milling module has put SolidCAM in a position to satisfy the increasing demands in the market for this type of machining. The increased availability of 4/5 axes CNC machines at machine shops, which are being used mainly now for indexial multi-sided 3+2 machining, have created a requirement also for support of simultaneous 5-axes machining. The need for simultaneous 5-axes machining is increasingly becoming a mainstream requirement rather than a specific niche requirement.

Most successful manufacturing companies are using today integrated CAD/CAM systems to get to market faster and reduce costs. Up to a number of years ago, moving to an integrated CAD/CAM system was out of reach for most companies. Now with SolidWorks setting the standard for mainstream CAD systems and SolidCAM's seamless single-window integration in SolidWorks-any size organization can now start to reap the benefits of the combined SolidWorks and SolidCAM solution.

"Our deciding factor for choosing SolidWorks over Pro-Engineering was SolidCAM. Our past experiences with Pro-Manufacturing had been very disappointing. Deciding on SolidCAM and SolidWorks has proven to be the right choice. We are very satisfied with the ease-of-use and power both SolidCAM and SolidWorks offer from design to manufacturing." said Nasser Barabi, CEO of Essai, Inc. from California, a provider of end-to-end engineering, manufacturing, quality and research services.

SolidCAM Ltd. develops CAM software tools for mechanical manufacturing. SolidCAM's target market is factories and machine shops that need a CAM system for programming parts for their CNC machine tools. SolidCAM is a CAM product that has been especially designed for the shop floor and is seamlessly integrated with the SolidWorks software. SolidCAM has innovative manufacturing technologies for the handling of solid models, the standard for 3D design. In the CIMdata NC Market Assessment Report V13 for the year 2003, SolidCAM has been named as the Most Rapidly Growing CAM Company for 2003 in terms of vendor revenue (+39.4%); SolidCAM's sales growth has continued at an even higher accelerated pace also in 2004.
