McDATA Raises the Customer Support Bar with Customized Training Materials Using Arbortext Enterprise Publishing Software

Arbortext announced its software will serve as the cornerstone of an Enterprise Publishing application that delivers customized technical manuals in support of customers, OEM partners and resellers for McDATA Corporation, a provider of storage networking solutions. Using Arbortext Enterprise Publishing Software, McDATA will improve access to its information, slash publishing costs, and reduce production and publication cycle times.

Customers and business partners need fast turn-around on customized training manuals, marketing collateral and support material. Arbortext software enables McDATA to create content that can be reused, repurposed and automatically republished to many audiences, in many languages and in many media formats.

"We view our enterprise publishing capabilities as a strategic asset. You can't just tell customers they are the highest priority, you have to demonstrate it," said Ginny Ward, Manager Technical Communications at McDATA Corporation. "Arbortext provided us with the solution to create and publish materials that support our expanding product and service offerings enabling us to focus on creating content that can be reused rather than spending time searching for and retyping content that already exists. This alone helps us automate much of our publishing process, ultimately saving time and money."

"Many technology companies need to tackle the challenge of dynamically publishing documentation for their network of global partners and resellers," said Raymond Schiavone, President and CEO for Arbortext. "Arbortext Enterprise Publishing Software allows for on-demand publishing so that customers and partners have a seamless interface to a company's technical publication system. We're proud to be helping McDATA realize a content publishing strategy that reinforces its leadership position."

Other technology companies using Arbortext Enterprise Publishing Software include Documentum (a division of EMC), Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Oracle, Ricoh, SAP Software AG, Sun Microsystems and SAS.
