Omnify Software to Host San Diego Event on Achieving Compliance with RoHS and WEEE

Omnify Software will host an event in San Diego on May 25, 2005 to help area manufacturers address important regulations and compliance issues resulting from the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directives introduced by the European Union (EU).

The event, which will feature guest speaker Michael Kirschner, president of consulting firm Design Chain Associates, LLC and a recognized specialist on these directives and related requirements, will cover the key elements of the new directives and help attendees understand them, as well as the impact they will have on electronics manufacturers. It will cover the costs of non-conformance, the regulations impact on product development, contracts, product lifecycles, outsourcing and procurement, and the need for design and manufacturing to collaborate. In addition, it will address how software solutions, like product lifecycle management, can help a company develop a compliant design process.
