Tosoh Begins Global Rollout of IFS Business Software with Ohio Implementation
IFS announced that Tosoh America, Inc., has implemented IFS ApplicationsT business software at its Tosoh SMD, Inc., manufacturing plant in Grove City, Ohio. Tosoh America is a subsidiary of Tosoh Corporation, a global chemical and specialty materials company based in Tokyo. Tosoh is considering additional IFS implementations at other manufacturing sites both in the United States and abroad.
Tosoh is running IFS' supply chain management, financial, workforce management, and customer relations management applications at its Ohio facility.
"IFS Applications is a fully integrated system that provides both back-office and customer relationship management capabilities to our sales representatives in the field," said Gerardo Gonzalez, Corporate Director of Information Technology for Tosoh America, Inc. "We're pleased that the implementation went smoothly, with little disruption to our business. Every new system has a learning curve, but with IFS it was extremely short. Within two to three days after the go-live, we were back up to full capacity in shipping."

Tosoh SMD is one of the world's leading manufacturers of sputtering targets used in the manufacturing of semiconductors and flat-panel displays. The sputtering targets deposit thin films of aluminum, titanium, tantalum, chrome, molybdenum, and an array of metal alloys, principally using physical vapor deposition (PVD) techniques. Targets can be made in all shapes, sizes, and purity levels to meet design specifications.
