42nd Design Automation Conference to Introduce Integrated Design Systems Workshop

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) announced it will offer an Integrated Design Systems Workshop on Monday, June 13, 2005. The new workshop is aimed at design automation professionals who integrate and develop design systems. It will address the challenges of providing an integrated suite of tools to help designers design more advanced products with an increasingly complex silicon technology.

"This new workshop evolved out of the Interoperability Workshops held at DAC for the past five years which successfully called attention to the need for a standard API for tools to share design data," said John Darringer, one of the workshop's organizers. "There is more that is needed to enable the integrated design systems required. This new workshop builds on the previous work and takes a broader perspective."

The workshop agenda includes talks from CAD managers at leading semiconductor and system companies, presentations from executives at prominent EDA companies and observations from industry gurus. All of the speakers will participate in a closing panel where attendees can ask questions and contribute to the discussion. The full agenda is available at the DAC Web site: http://www.dac.com .

The Integrated Design Systems Workshop will be held on Monday, June 13, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Registration is $50 for IEEE/ACM members and $75 for non members. For more details, contact John Darringer at 914-945-2742 or via email at jad@us.ibm.com . To register for the workshop, visit the DAC Web site: http://www.dac.com .
