Surfware to Demonstrate Patent-Pending TrueMillT Technology at EASTEC 2005
Surfware Inc., developer of SURFCAM CAD/CAM Systems, will exhibit its new patent-pending TrueMillT technology at EASTEC 2005. By precisely controlling a tool's engagement with the material, TrueMill enables the use of aggressive machining parameters, which results in significantly reduced cycle times.
"The machining parameters achievable with TrueMill are directly attributable to the even machining loads and reduced stress inherent to the tool paths," said Glenn Coleman, Surfware's vice president of product design. "This not only results in dramatically reduced cycle times, but extended machine tool and cutting tool life as well."
The completely new tool path strategy generates smooth, fluid tool paths, which leverage the superior motion-control capabilities of CNC machine tools. The tool paths are completely free from spikes or sudden changes in tool load. Thus, machining parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate, depth-of-cut, and stepover can be used in combinations that would result in material damage or tool breakage if used with existing tool path generators.
"One of TrueMill's greatest assets is its complete independence form the machining hardware," continued Coleman. "All things being equal, TrueMill tool paths can be driven faster and deeper than other tool paths. This technology elevates the productivity of CNC milling machines to levels previously unattainable."
TrueMill is only available in SURFCAM VelocityT, which will be released in summer 2005. It can be experienced live at EASTEC, booth #1038. The show will run May 24-26, 2005 at the Eastern States Exposition Center in West Springfield, Massachusetts. For more information visit http://www.sme.org/eastec .
