SAS Group Selects AuRA for Enterprise M & E Solution

MIRO Technologies (formerly Spirent Systems), the enterprise MRO software company relied on by over 150,000 end-users, announced an enterprise deal with SAS Group, the fourth largest airline group in Europe, to implement an AuRAT solution for engineering and maintenance management.

The initial scope of the project will implement an AuRA solution for Scandinavian Airlines for JAR OPS1 (M) activity that includes engineering management, technical records, maintenance control, maintenance planning and work package management. The proof-of-concept phase, already underway in Stockholm, will be followed by final project implementation planning and roll-out in 2005.

Future phases of the project will extend the scope of the project to seamlessly integrate JAS145 functions within Scandinavian Technical Services (STS), a subsidiary of SAS Group and the leading Nordic supplier of full-service MRO with 3,800 employees. STS will leverage the AuRA technology as parts of its engineering services offering to its airline customers. In addition, the enterprise deal also encompasses licenses for SAS subsidiary airlines, third-party airlines and affiliates, including the new Air Maintenance Estonia (AME) venture.

SAS views the AuRA solution as a critical element in their mission to strengthen maintenance and engineering operations through intelligent use of technology to improve efficiency and lower costs.
