MIRO Announces GOLDT Version 2005

MIRO Technologies (formerly Spirent Systems), the enterprise MRO software company relied on by over 150,000 end-users, announced GOLDT Version 2005.

The most significant enhancements incorporated into GOLDT v2005 include:

•  Unique Identifier (UID). This modification adapts GOLDT to meet a new DOD requirement for tracking items with a Unique Identifier code (UID). This UID code will be attached to all significant items in DOD inventory. The DOD defines the criteria for requiring the UID, such as any item that costs over $5,000 or requiring special attention.

•  GOLDT ASG-Safari Reports. This release of GOLDT incorporates ASG-Safari InfoServerT and other tools. Over 50 new reports and a complete GOLD Safari data dictionary will be delivered as part of this release. GOLDT COBOL-based reports will no longer be supported after December 2005.

•  Material Forecast Module. The new Material Forecast module forecasts material to support end units based upon an end unit forecast and actual usage history.

•  New In Transit Status of Requests. A new option has been added to put a parts request (incoming requisition) into a special 'in transit' status, pending receipt confirmation by the requester via receipt of the appropriate MILS document from the customer. A new option has also been added to allow a customer to manually assign material to satisfy a parts request or incoming requisition.

•  New Kitting Screens and Functionality. The Kitting Module has been updated with new screens and new functionality, such as end item tracking for the kit, component item tracking for items comprising the kit, removal of an item installed in a kit, historical tracking of the items issued to a kit, a new transaction for issuance to a kit and a kit re-receiving screen.

•  New Application Programming Interfaces (API). A new API has been created that builds logical and physical kits from an external data source. Another API was created to interface GOLD with a MRP engine to create planned orders in GOLDT. Other API enhancements include a 'delete all' function, variable outbound XML filenames and dynamic error messaging.

•  Alternate/Substitute Parts. The modification adds three additional alternate/substitute parts methodologies to the two already in GOLDT.

•  MILS Enhancements. Many new MILS enhancements have been added in this release, including the ability to screen material requests against a list of authorized requisitioners (by DODAAC) that can draw material from a specific GOLDT Segregation Code, an improved USAF RAMPS (Recoverable Assembly Management Process System (RAMPS) display, and eight new triggers and updates to four existing triggers in the Item Manager Queue Decision Support Desktop. One of these new triggers allows GOLDT to process financial transactions (MILSBILLS) received from an Inventory Control Point (ICP) for the first time. In addition, the architecture has been developed in such a way to facilitate a future enhancement to permit a GOLDT MILS ICP to generate MILSBILLS transactions.

•  Forms Enhancements. Enhancements have been made to the DD1149 form to incorporate changes made in the version dated June 2003.

•  Remote Printing Improvements. A remote printing function within GOLD allows the user to send documents to an Internet email address as attachments instead of routing them to a file or a printer. The latest release added the ability to have the GOLD server automatically convert a postscript file (.PS file type) into an Adobe .PDF file type that can be read by Adobe Acrobat software. This change eliminates the need to install shareware software on every PC that needed to receive postscript files.

MIRO's customers use GOLD to enable, support, and improve maintenance, logistics, and record keeping processes and functions to reduce costs, improve productivity, reduce turn-times and enable better management decision-making. Maintenance organizations also rely on GOLD for ensuring airworthiness and optimal flight availability throughout the equipment's life cycle. By integrating with U.S. military retail supply systems, GOLD provides total asset visibility of contractor-managed items in the battlefield.
