Simulog Technologies Changes Name to Distene; Provides Meshing Components and Consulting
Simulog Technologies has changed its name to Distene and established new headquarters outside of Paris, France.
In the U.S. market, Distene will continue providing meshing software components and consulting services for leading CAD/CAE software vendors. The company's major customers include Dassault Systemes, UGS, Parametric Technologies Corp., MSC.Software, ANSYS, SRAC, LSTC, Abaqus, Pointwise and nearly two-dozen others.
Distene builds on the engineering talent and experience of Simulog Technologies. The company's management and chief engineers have more than 15 years of experience in R&D and 10 years in developing, supporting and upgrading meshing technologies. The company works in collaboration with INRIA, the French National Institute of Computer Science, an acknowledged leader in advanced meshing technology for 20 years.
"There is tremendous pressure for CAD/CAE vendors to develop increasingly sophisticated, complete software solutions within shorter time cycles," says Laurent Anne, Distene's sales director and co-founder. "Distene provides proven, technically advanced components that help these vendors succeed in integrating CAD with design chain analysis tools that are critical to meeting their customers' PLM (product lifecycle management) goals."
Using technology developed with INRIA, Distene provides a range of software components that are integrated into CAD/CAE applications. Thanks to products such as ANSYS, MSC-NASTRAN, CATIA, I-DEAS and LS-Dyna, these components have been tried and tested by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. The company's components include:
ST-Surf for surface tri/quad mesh generation
TetMesh-GHS3D for volume tet mesh generation from surface meshes
YAMS for optimization of tri/quad surface meshes and STL geometry meshing
MeshAdapt for surface/volume mesh adaptation of unstructured tri/tet meshes
Adding value to Distene's products is expertise in custom development, third-party maintenance, and consulting services in technologies and methodologies.
"We go well beyond just providing a product," says Anne. "Most of our customers are long-term partners that value the full range of skills we can bring to an engagement."
Distene comes from a Greek term meaning two strengths (di stenos). In Distene's case it signifies two markets (software vendors and industrial end users), two core competencies (pre- and post-processing) and two types of business (products and added-value consultancy).
Distene ( http://www.distene.com ) provides integrated solutions, technology, products and consultancy services for pre- and post-processing. The company serves CAD/CAE vendors and industrial end users throughout the world. In addition to meshing components, Distene provides scientific and engineering visualization solutions based on CEI's EnSight, which the company distributes and supports in Southern Europe.
