Capvidia to Launch PDQWorks at SolidWorks World 2005
Capvidia announced that it will introduce PDQWorks (Product Data Quality) at the seventh annual SolidWorks World 2005 Conference, being held from January 30th - February 2nd, 2005 in Orlando, Florida. PDQWorks is the first product available to SolidWorks designers to provide real-time CAD model quality verification, and certification to guarantee that product data quality guidelines for topology, geometry, and manufacturability are satisfied. PDQWorks verifies that models exported from SolidWorks will satisfy the quality requirements of the receiving CAD System (CATIA, ProE, UG, IDEAS, SolidWorks, etc). The model quality and conformity can be verified (dynamically or statically) at any stage of the design. For example, consider a CATIA à SolidWorks à CATIA workflow . Imported CATIA parts are modified in SolidWorks and verified with PDQWorks before they are exported back to CATIA. All quality guidelines and manufacturing requirements required by CATIA are in the SolidWorks part.

PDQWorks supports model quality in accordance with the automotive standard recommendations defined by the SASIG group (VDA 4955, AIAG D-15, GALIA, ODETTE, JAMA). One can also define one's "own quality standards" to satisfy internal requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
