VX Selected for University of Central Lancashire's New Training Center
VX Corporation announced that VX will be used exclusively in the new dedicated design suite at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in the United Kingdom.
The University of Central Lancashire, located in Preston with a student population of over 22,000, is noted for having one of the best design programs in Europe. The university's new CAD design suite is equipped with 15 high-end HP computers all exclusively running VX CAD/CAM software.
"We're delighted with having the good fortune of using VX CAD/CAM software as the foundation for our design engineering program. VX's design modeling with advanced hybrid solid/surface modeling and Class A surfaces provides our students with excellent training for careers in the product, industrial, ceramic and 3D design fields," said Graham Hill, Senior Technician at UCLAN. "Since there is such a short learning period for VX, our students are able to focus much more of their time on learning good design engineering practices as opposed to having to spend an inordinate amount of time learning the software. This was an important factor in helping us to make our selection."
