Report Highlights Engineer-to-Order Manufacturing Gains from Rules-driven Product Management
In a report made public today, manufacturing software expert Jim Brown analyzes the emerging rules-driven product management (RPM) marketplace, a new category of enterprise software being adopted by Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturers.
RPM allows discrete manufacturers to respond to customer-specific orders more rapidly, accurately and efficiently by capturing and reusing engineering and manufacturing rules.
The report, "Rules-Driven Product Management - Achieving Greater Value From Customer-Specified Products," reviews the foundations of the rules-driven product management market. It discusses the challenges manufacturers have faced in their efforts to increase their ability to competitively differentiate their products, meet customer needs and increase sales. The report identifies how RPM helps discrete manufacturers meet these long-standing challenges and become more successful at producing customized products without paying the high order processing and design penalties traditionally associated with customization.
"This report reinforces the clear value that RuleStream's solution delivers to ETO manufacturers," said David Vredenburgh, RuleStream's chief executive officer. "RPM helps companies meet the very real sales growth challenges facing manufacturers today. Any company providing customized products - and others trying to expedite their sales, design and manufacturing processes - can benefit from this report."
