RuleStream Appoints Two Executives to New, Expanded Management Roles
RuleStream Corporation announced the appointment of two company executives to new positions. Rick Smith has been promoted to vice president, professional services, and Bernard Pezzimenti has been appointed vice president, research and development.
The move reflects the company's commitment to product development and customer service, as well as the growing acceptance and importance of RPM as part of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturers' overall PLM strategy.
"Bernie and Rick have played key roles as RuleStream continues to expand its offerings and deepen its capabilities," said David Vredenburgh, RuleStream's chief executive officer. "We're very pleased to be able to recognize their commitment and contribution to RuleStream through these appointments."
Smith most recently served as director, customer support and services, while Pezzimenti served as vice president, professional services.
Rick Smith will lead RuleStream's team of services professionals that deliver and support its RPM solutions. He is responsible for overall customer satisfaction and for ensuring that customers realize their expected business results. Smith is a customer advocacy expert in the enterprise software industry. At Aspect Development (which was acquired by i2 Technologies), he was the executive charged with building and sustaining customer loyalty. Prior to that, he served as director of solution consulting for Aspect. Smith has been involved in services, sales, and marketing in the enterprise software and technology industries for more than 20 years, holding a broad range of leadership roles at PictureTel, Cadence Design Systems, Apollo Computer and MITRE. He brings a strong, customer focused approach to the post-sales support function.
Bernard Pezzimenti will lead the company's R&D efforts, including new product development and enhancements to RuleStream's existing product base. He has a successful operations and technical management track record in both start-up and medium-sized organizations. With twenty years of software engineering and management experience in the CAD and KBE sectors at such companies as Bethlehem Steel, Babcock & Wilcox, Wisdom Systems, Union Switch & Signal (US&S) and, most recently, in ERP systems at Management Science Associates (MSA), Pezzimenti is uniquely qualified to direct the development of RuleStream's cutting edge RPM solutions. While at MSA, he managed the re-architecture of over 50 integrated applications communicating with a large relational database. Pezzimenti managed the activities of over 200 engineers in each software development organization at US&S and MSA.
