LISI Automotive Selects UGS' NXT and Teamcenter® Product Lifecycle Management Software as Corporate Standard
UGS announced that LISI Automotive, a world-leading provider of link solutions for passenger car manufacturers and a top specialist for engineered components for tier-one suppliers to the automotive industry, has standardized on UGS' NXT and Teamcenter® solutions.
LISI Automotive's decision followed a detailed benchmark of various PLM systems. The company wanted a single tool to standardize its product development process and collaboration with the ability to trace and control the design, manufacture and industrialization cycle of its products. UGS' PLM software will replace various existing systems to improve productivity and time-to-market.
LISI selected NX, UGS' digital product development solution, because of its functional excellence and the richness of its applications, which can address LISI Automotive's various trades, including plastic, stamping and progressive die. The company selected Teamcenter over competitive products because of its comprehensive collaboration capabilities, particularly with respect to collaboration across all sites and current software solutions, as well as with key customers and suppliers.
"This large scale implementation will enable us to optimize our development processes, to have a perfect command of the key stakes and stages and to make available all technical documentation at the same time at all the sites. Our objective is to use these tools to drive international growth for LISI Automotive," said Bernard Cerf, project leader of LISI Automotive.
UGS will partner with LISI Automotive to deploy NX and Teamcenter in all its design offices in France and Germany and in its factories throughout the world in 24 months. The technical data from various existing databases will be transferred to the new UGS system in order to have a single technical reference source, to homogenize the development tools and to give access to the globally dispersed teams to allow for sharing of information.
"We are extremely gratified to see LISI Automotive join the list of automotive companies that have decided to specify one or more of our PLM software products as their corporate standard," said Pascal Zehren, managing director of UGS France. "UGS is a leading supplier in this industry, and this contract reflects the trust our clients place in our products and services. It is a credit to our people and technologies."
The LISI Automotive contract further solidifies UGS' PLM leadership position in the automotive industry. To date, more than 155,000 seats of UGS' software are in use at the world's top 25 automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
LISI Automotive is a first tier supplier and ships directly to most European manufacturers, including PSA, Renault, BMW, the VW Group, GM-Opel, Mercedes, as well as to leading global equipment manufacturers such as TRW, Delphi, Faurecia, the TI Group, SMI Koyo, Autoliv and Bosch.
The automotive sector as a whole accounts for over 80% of LISI Automotive's sales, which also has key positions in such niche sectors as heavy trucks (Volvo-RVI), electrical connectors (Schneider) and sink fasteners (Franke).
