ProSTEP iViP Symposium 2005 - Creating Collaborative Environments

The 7th ProSTEP iViP Symposium is being held on April 20 and 21, 2005, at the Ludwig Erhard Haus in Berlin. The ProSTEP iViP As-association, together with the symposium's host, Siemens AG, would like to invite you to join what is sure to be a lively discussion of strategies at the symposium under the motto, Creating Collaborative Environments:   Scalable-Effective-Secure

New and efficient means of collaboration - both within the boundaries of a single company and across corporate borders - can be created through the use of harmonized procedures and processes. The symposium's program of events includes lectures that present possible approaches as well as workshops that offer a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing requirements.

Dr. Bernhard Nottbeck, Vice President Corporate Technology at Siemens AG, will open the two-day symposium. A total of 24 presentations and five workshops will provide those attending with an opportunity to obtain a wide variety of information on new projects and solutions. The accompanying exhibition, which provides numerous software companies and business consultants with an ideal platform for presenting themselves, will also be the venue for stimulating discussions and an exchange of know-how and experience already gained. Invited speakers - representatives of both industry and research institutions - round off the program of events. As the representative of this year's sponsor, Mr. Martin Jetter, Leader Business Consulting Services, Central Europe, General Manager IBM Deutschland GmbH, will bring the symposium to a close.

You will find the complete program of events and the latest information on the symposium at http://www.prostep.org .

The ProSTEP iViP Association is an international branch-specific community comprising leading companies in the automotive and aerospace industries, system vendors and research institutes. The aim of the ProSTEP iViP Association is to find solutions for the challenges facing the manufacturing industry as a result of networked collaboration in a worldwide development network. A concept based on a coherent, cross-organizational and cross-domain view of data, processes and systems provides a solid foundation for meeting these challenges. The Association's five main areas of focus reflect this approach: process management, system integration, product data standardization, engineering collaboration and knowledge transfer.

The Association's shareholding in PROSTEP AG provides the basis for close cooperation in the area of product data integration. ProSTEP AG has a current headcount of over 180 employees and posted revenues of approximately € 15.2 million in 2003.

The ProSTEP iViP Association is headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany, and was founded in October 1993 by 38 industrial companies and a number of system vendors as part of the German STEP initiative. Members of the ProSTEP iViP Association currently include almost 200 companies and organizations from 17 nations.
