Long-Time CADKEY Customer Aviation Enterprises Upgrades to Kubotek KeyCreator

Kubotek USA announced that long-time CADKEY customer, Aviation Enterprises, ( http://www.aviationenterprises.co.uk/ ) has upgraded to Kubotek KeyCreatorT   (formerly CADKEY® ). The small independent company utilized the geometry- based design and modeling technology to create, design and manufacture its Magnum aircraft.

Designed entirely with Kubotek software, the Magnum is a high performance state-of-the-art aircraft. With a maximum cruise speed of 177 MPH on a mere 100HP, it is extremely quiet and exceptionally efficient. With only 45 gallons of fuel, it can travel 1,100 nautical miles at top speed, or twice the distance at an economy cruising speed of 130 MPH. The Magnum, which had its maiden flight on June 5, 2003 from Membury Airfield in Berkshire in England, is currently awaiting final certification needed to go into commercial production.

"The ease-of-use, flexibility and the sheer power of KeyCreator not only made the creation of the Magnum possible, but it also enabled us to design it better and develop it quicker than we could have ever imagined," said Angus Fleming, managing director and chief designer of Aviation Enterprises. "KeyCreator provides all the freedom of a pencil and sketchpad with the power of computing to transform designs into real products. This software helps to make the design process enjoyable and creative and also making products that are manufacturable."

The KeyCreator creation engineering product line includes multidimensional design and drafting, NC programming and reverse engineering capabilities. The expanding product line features the company's geometry-based foundation with localized feature editing and sophisticated deformation techniques. These capabilities are particularly useful for design teams working with advanced designs of solid models because KeyCreator blends surface, solids and wireframe modeling, allowing easy modification and editing functionality.
