Omnify Software Joins the Cadence Connections Program
Omnify Software announced its membership in the Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Connections® program. Omnify's PLM product openly integrates with OrCAD technology from Cadence.
Omnify offers a bi-directional interface between its Omnify PLM system and OrCAD Capture® and OrCAD Capture® CIS products. Joint customers can take advantage of the Omnify PLM solution to help simplify their component data and library management and enhance their personal productivity. The integrated solution also eliminates the need for engineering departments to manage separate databases from other groups in an organization.
"The Omnify/OrCAD® interface provides consistency, reduces design and documentation time, and allows our design personnel to continue working in the environment they are proficient in," stated Bridget Koloseus of Optical Air Data Systems, a joint Omnify Software and OrCAD customer.
This interoperability effort offers customers:
Simplified part data and library management
Seamless integration between Omnify and OrCAD Capture and OrCAD Capture CIS products; providing engineers with a content database that is managed and used by all groups in an organization.
Automation of administrative tasks
New part request (NPR)
Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Bill of Materials (BOM) processing and management
Access to additional product development groups
Eliminate disconnect between engineering and other groups in an organization such as Operations, Documentation Control/Configuration Management, Manufacturing Groups, and Test/QA.
Engineering Sandbox
Create, modify, and organize BOMs prior to release without logging into the Omnify system.
Unified product development process
Manage parts, bill of materials, engineering change, and documentation information in one location.
Reduced prototype errors
"Our product lifecycle management system provides significant productivity benefits for joint customers," said Chuck Cimalore, CTO of Omnify Software. "Becoming a Connections program member and integrating with the OrCAD product line provides a seamless engineering design environment to help engineers focus on what they do best: design."
"We're very pleased to have Omnify Software as a Connections member," said Pat Dutrow, director of the Cadence Connections program. "The benefits described by Optical Air Data Systems is an excellent example of the value that open collaboration brings to customers."
