PDMOffice Brings 8 Million CAD Components to CAD Practitioners and Product OEM's
PDMOffice announced a new solution offering an online, part catalog through a strategic partnership with IMSI® CADsymbols.com.
The partnership results in a new subscription service for PDMOffice users allowing them to search, view, directly download and manage components from CADSymbols.com much like their own product design data they manage within PDMOffice. Supported data types are Autodesk Inventor, DXF and DWG, SolidWorks, TurboCAD®, ACIS®, IGES, among others.
"In today's fast-paced, competitive world, off-the-shelf part sourcing is a perfect way for CAD professionals to gain an unfair advantage over their competition," said Rajiv Saxena, president and CEO, PDMOffice. "This partnership enables CAD engineers to speed up their projects by selecting from millions of CAD components not only early in their design cycle but also during the final stages of their product design."
"CADsymbols.com part catalog is a compelling solution for CAD professionals looking to skip re-inventing the wheel and to preserve resources for their core design activities," said Bob Mayer, executive vice president of IMSI's Precision Design Products Division. "We expect our joint solution, ability to access CADSymbols® components and to manage the design data within PDMOffice, to offer a strong return on investment to CAD Engineers and product OEM's using this solution."
Under the terms of the agreement, IMSI and PDMOffice are offering one-click access to CADsymbols.com catalog from within PDMOffice Design Lifecycle Management Solutions such as Project Desk, Product Center, among others. The two companies will also cooperate to promote their joint solution through joint marketing activities, such as industry trade shows.
