Synopsys Announces the Appointment of Bill Frerichs as Vice President of Market Research and Strategy
Synopsys, Inc. announced it has appointed Bill Frerichs as vice president of Market Research and Strategy. Frerichs will be responsible for competitive analysis, customer and market research and strategic planning.
Prior to joining Synopsys, Mr. Frerichs was a senior research analyst and the technology team leader at D.A. Davidson & Co., an investment bank with equity capital market operations based in Lake Oswego, OR. His team published The Tapeout, an influential investor letter covering electronic design automation (EDA), semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor capital equipment and system-on-chip investments. The team also founded the D.A. Davidson Silicon Technology Conference, an annual event for institutional investors held in Park City, Utah. In 2001, Mr. Frerichs was cited in the Wall Street Journal "Best on the Street" analysts' survey for his coverage of EDA.
Prior to joining D.A. Davidson & Co., Mr. Frerichs was analyst team leader at Black & Co., in Portland, OR, now part of Wells Fargo Securities.
