Leading Canadian Meat Producer to Become Leaner With IFS Business Software
IFS announced that Freybe Gourmet Foods Ltd., a leading producer of sausage, ham, and specialty meat products, has signed a contract to implement IFS ApplicationsT business software. The company will deploy IFS' supply chain management, financial, product management, and document management applications at its manufacturing site in Langley, British Columbia.
"Our company is on a fast growth curve, and we needed to integrate the many islands of information throughout our enterprise to make it easier to make the best-informed business decisions," said Sven Freybe, vice president of Freybe Gourmet Foods. "The IFS system will provide lot traceability on all our products, from raw material to finished goods. It will also enable us to better track costs and to maintain the flexibility to meet our customers' needs and quality expectations as we continue to grow."

IFS Applications offers these companies a broad supply chain management (SCM) solution that integrates manufacturing with asset management to optimize overall equipment efficiency.
IFS has more than 100 customers in the food and beverage industry, including Pepsi Shanghai, The Iams Co., Kettle Foods, Tazo Tea, Harry's Fresh Foods, Apffels Coffee, Nature's Path Foods, and Canbra Foods. Other process industry customers include DuPont, Willamette Valley Co., Jotun, SICPA, ANI Printing Inks, and SCA.
Freybe Gourmet Foods Ltd. produces more than 120 varieties of sausage, ham, and specialty meat products for customers in Canada, the United States, and Japan. The family-owned company was founded in 1844 by "Sausage Meister" Johann Carl Freybe, who opened the first Freybe store in Stettin, Germany (then Prussia) after earning a Master of Sausage Making degree.
