Si2 Announces the 12th Si2/OpenAccess+ Conference

The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) announced that its 12th Si2/OpenAccess+ Conference will be held on Aril 16, 2008, at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California. The Conference will feature speakers and demonstrations from several of the industry’s leading semiconductor and electronic-design automation (EDA) companies. Dr. Jan Rabaey, D.O.Pederson Professor at UC, Berkeley, will open the conference with a keynote address - "Scaling the Power Wall" on low power design at the system level.

The 12th Si2/OpenAccess+ Conference will cover the inter-related areas of low power design, library modeling, and OpenAccess. Company representatives will share their experiences with designing integrated circuits using the Si2 Common Power Format (CPF). Library creation and validation will be discussed in the context of the recently announced FreePDK45 Library donated to Si2 by Nangate and made available by Si2 for worldwide research. Experiences using OpenAccess in production flows to design commercial, mainstream ICs will be shared.

Speakers will include representatives from Cadence, Fenix Design Systems, Nangate, Fujitsu Microelectronics America, IBM, Pyxis, Intel, and Hewlett-Packard. As in past conferences, there will be demos presented of tools and supporting capabilities during the evening “Wine and Cheese Reception.” Companies scheduled to participate include: Cadence, Nangate, Synopsys, CiraNova, Fenix D.A., Altos D.A., Artwork Conversion, Pyxis, Si2, SoftJin, and Analog Rails.
