SANYO Semiconductor Adopts Apache’s Power Signoff Solution

Apache Design Solutions announced that SANYO Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (SANYO Semiconductor) has adopted RedHawk for their most advanced design. As consumers demand more functionality, SANYO Semiconductor recognizes that power integrity is a critical design requirement for their silicon success. SANYO Semiconductor selected RedHawk based on its track record for delivering full-chip dynamic power analysis with Spice-level accuracy. By adding RedHawk to their signoff flow, SANYO Semiconductor will be able to identify dynamic “hot spots,” and analyze the impact of power/ground noise on jitter and timing.

“For high volume consumer products, reliability is one of our key design criteria and we are seeing numerous power and noise challenges that impact our designs,” said Dr. Atsushi Kurokawa, manager of Design Engineering Department, Engineering Central Division, LSI Headquarters of SANYO Semiconductor. “RedHawk enables us to quickly identify, analyze, and repair potential power noise issues that can impact our silicon, thus increasing our confidence in tape-out success.”

“We are seeing more and more companies requiring power as one of the silicon signoff criteria and we are pleased to have SANYO Semiconductor place their confidence in our power signoff solution,” said Dian Yang, general manager of Asia at Apache. “The rapid adoption of RedHawk by leading semiconductor companies demonstrates Apache’s commitment to providing the best solution to address our customers critical design challenges.”
