Erling-Klinger Selects Digital Lifecycle Simulation from Siemens PLM Software

Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services today announced that ElringKlinger, a leading supplier of cylinder head and specialty gaskets to the global automotive industry, has selected NXTM simulation software to optimize product design efficiency and further enhance its renowned product quality.

ElringKlinger uses NX software, the comprehensive digital product development portfolio from Siemens PLM Software, to design its products. The company was looking to improve the efficiency of its engineering analysis and to increase the number of components that undergo the analysis. After a comprehensive evaluation of several leading simulation software offerings, the company selected NX simulation due to its superior functionality, seamless integration with ElringKlinger’s design environment and the software’s intuitive user interface.

“The NX simulation software has not only added significant capability to our engineering analysis process but it has also dramatically simplified the way we work,” said John Kapcoe, senior product engineer, ElringKlinger. “Our engineers were able to run an analysis in NX in three hours that used to take three days. Making simulation pervasive throughout the product lifecycle

The NX simulation suite consists of a wide variety of integrated modules that work seamlessly within the NX integrated environment. ElringKliner selected NX Advanced Simulation, NX Response Simulation, NX Flow Simulation, NX Thermal Simulation and NX Nastran® Advanced Non-linear for a single integrated tool to perform all of their structural, modal, computational fluid dynamics, response simulation and non-linear analysis.
