IBM Announces Enhancements to Telelogic Change that Support Global Application Lifecycle Management

IBM today announced the latest version of Telelogic Change™, an integrated, Web-based workflow and change control management solution. With Telelogic Change 5.0, organizations will, for the first time, be able to bring together multiple development repositories and stakeholders within the organization into a single, global approach to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).

Addressing the needs of large, growing, global organizations, Change 5.0 breaks new ground for change management. Change 5.0 facilitates global ALM by bringing together developers from around the world that are using change management solutions from multiple vendors. It further extends ALM to others throughout the business—including developers, enterprise architects and product managers.

Development teams building advanced systems and software, moving to SOA, or developing their SaaS portfolio, need to deliver innovations as quickly as possible with limited resources and without sacrificing quality. By bringing business decision-makers into the process and adopting common and repeatable change management processes and best practices across the development lifecycle, Change 5.0 empowers organizations to quickly identify the highest value changes and move rapidly to product development.

In addition, the new release supports CMMI levels 2, 3 and 4, providing metrics and reports for predicting fault levels and pinpointing weak process areas, as well as tracking faults across the software development lifecycle. These capabilities give Quality Assurance (QA) mangers the insight needed to predict fault levels, testing and budgets.

New Integrations Manage Complexity and Support Governance

Telelogic Change 5.0 offers a range of new integrations that help organizations improve business processes, become more competitive, manage complexity and comply with regulations without the potential risk and burden of migrating all stakeholders to a single solution. With this release Change now integrates with:

  • Telelogic System Architect, a solution to provide enterprise architecture and business process analysis with a common change governance platform that connects to the development organization;
  • Telelogic Focal Point, a solution for product management and product portfolio management. With this integration, organizations can assess the impact that changes have on their business strategies and product portfolios, and focus on high value initiatives;
  • Telelogic Synergy configuration management software, IBM Rational ClearCase configuration management software and Subversion version control software;
  • Eclipse, the open source IDE, and in particular with Mylyn, Eclipse’s task-focused interface, to provide full visibility and traceability from change requests to code for Eclipse users

Telelogic Change 5.0 also supports the Enterprise Change Process (ECP) 1.1, a new version of the Telelogic out-of-the-box process solution, co-developed with Philips Applied Technologies, that provides a low-risk, high-ROI process package for consistent change requests and problem report management.

“Telelogic Change has been deployed and field tested at some of the world’s largest, most dynamic organizations, where thousands of employees participate in the software development process,” said Jesper Christensen, Executive Vice President, Change and Configuration Management Product Division, Telelogic, An IBM Company. “Telelogic Change 5.0 will help organizations unite more business decision-makers and developers in a global ALM collaboration, ensuring they manage change effectively, while supporting compliance, innovation and enterprise agility.”
