SimuTech Group Acquires Software Distribution Business Unit from Belcan Corporation
SIMUTECH GROUP (a dba of STI Technologies, Inc., Rochester, NY) recently announced that it has acquired a software distribution business unit from Belcan Corporation (Cincinnati, OH). The primary component of the Chicago-based business unit is a channel partner distributor of ANSYS, Inc. The new business unit (SimuTech Group - Chicago Office) will join eight existing SimuTech Group offices throughout North America that focus on distributing and supporting engineering simulation software from ANSYS. In addition, the companies provide engineering consulting and training in finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques based on tools from ANSYS.
While all SimuTech Group offices historically have provided high-end service and support for ANSYS engineering simulation software to their respective customers, the addition of another location with its associated engineering expertise will allow for greater synergy with respect to internal areas of expertise, a broader customer base and even better customer support services. The combined staff now offers customers a wealth of technical expertise (such as structural or CFD) as well as industry-specific proficiency (such as electronics, turbomachinery or aerospace). Ken Lally, CEO of SimuTech Group stated, "The combination of engineering expert resources that has been added with this acquisition will allow us to further increase our value to customers with a broader range of engineering consulting services and greater application expertise to support the latest product additions from ANSYS." SimuTech Group - Chicago will retain its local sales and engineering capabilities to provide the highest levels of customer sales, service and support while leveraging the resources and capabilities of the other office locations.
As part of the transaction, SimuTech Group and Belcan Corporation have entered into a partnering agreement to provide services to each other. Belcan routinely uses advanced analysis techniques, including simulation software from ANSYS. Both companies have mutual interests and capabilities that can result in quicker services for their clients.
