LMS Releases LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A

LMS announced the release of LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A. The new version of its 1D multi-domain simulation platform includes new ergonomic features for better productivity, new interfacing capabilities for enhanced interoperability, and breakthrough developments in various dedicated application solutions.

LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim offers a complete 1D simulation suite to model and analyze multi-domain, intelligent systems and to predict their multi-disciplinary performance. The components of the model are described by analytical models representing the hydraulic, pneumatic, electric or mechanical behavior of the system. To create the system simulation model in LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim, the user can make use of a large set of packaged solutions including specific sets of tools and application libraries of pre-defined components from different physical domains. The software creates a physics based model of the system, which doesn’t require a full 3D geometry representation. This approach gives LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim the capability to simulate the behavior of intelligent systems long before detailed CAD geometry becomes available.

The new LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A release will optimize overall global productivity with a variety of significant ergonomic improvements, including a new extended super-component creation process, Windows Vista compatibility, a Modelica editor and new AMESet possibilities to easily extend and maintain libraries of components. This increased ease-of-use reduces the required level of end-user expertise and significantly shortens the learning curve. With these improvements, LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A provides a quicker and easier way to create and modify models for all types of users.

LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A features new scripting and plug-ins for easy application-specific pre-processing and post-processing. With the circuit application programming interface, it is possible to embed an AMESim core into your own application for additional customization.

Rev 8A of LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim has enhanced interoperability with other simulation tools. From within LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim, users can simulate system models and three-dimensional designs using both LMS Virtual.Lab Motion and LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim solvers. The new co-simulation interface with LMS Virtual.Lab Motion extends the scope of applications directly analyzed within one simulation environment.

The latest release of the LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim platform also includes a new LabVIEW Real-Time interface giving the end user the possibility to export AMESim models on LabVIEW real-time benches. This new feature is especially useful for Electronic Control Unit design and validation on Hardware-in-the-Loop test benches in the automotive, aerospace and off-highway industries.

Various breakthrough developments directly enhance several of the dedicated application solutions in LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A. Major updates have been made in the solution and libraries portfolio to enhance the modeling capabilities and accelerate calculation speeds. Significant improvements have been made in the powertrain & transmission, electromechanical, internal combustion engine and related hydraulics, fluids systems and thermal management domains. Two new libraries, Electrical Static Conversion and Engine Signal Generator, have been developed as well.

"LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 8A further strengthens the application-oriented strategy of the current platform,” testified Willy Bakkers, Vice-President and General Manager Imagine and CAE Division. "LMS is committed to provide its customers with state-of the art solutions featuring application-oriented components, running on a cutting-edge simulation platform. Our main objective with Rev 8 was to make LMS Imagine.Lab and its solutions more accessible and more user-friendly while keeping a high level of expertise."
