Sparx Systems Partners With Siemens PLM Software to Integrate Advanced UML Modeling with Product Lifecycle Management
Sparx Systems announced a partnership with Siemens PLM Software that strengthens its support for open-standards in model-driven Product Lifecycle Management.
As a result of the partnership, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect – a world-leading, team-based platform for the Unified Modeling Language (UML) – now tightly integrates with Siemens PLM Software’s Systems Engineering and Requirements Management environment within its Teamcenter® software portfolio.
“We are excited to be partnering with Siemens PLM Software to deliver a fully integrated, UML modeling solution for Teamcenter,” said Sam Mancarella, Chief Technology Officer of Sparx Systems. “By incorporating UML-based software designs into the product lifecycle for electro-mechanical systems, our customers are well-equipped to manage the complexity in today’s software products, and deliver solutions to market on time.”
In addition to strong support for UML and software engineering, Enterprise Architect brings many other integrated visual modeling capabilities to Teamcenter. Most notable is an open standards approach to systems engineering using SysML and to business process analysis through the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). Key enterprise architecture frameworks, including the Department of Defence's DoDAF, the Zachman Framework, The Open Group's TOGAF™ and others, are also available to Teamcenter users via the integration.

The primary goal of the new offering is to help our customers save time and reduce costs while ensuring requirements match performance and software versions correspond to electro-mechanical designs.”
The integrated Teamcenter and Enterprise Architect solution is available immediately.
