RuleStream to Extend AutoCAD Integration with Autodesk’s RealDWG Platform
RuleStream Corporation announced that it has signed an agreement with Autodesk to use Autodesk's RealDWG engine to augment the integration of AutoCAD software into RuleStream’s existing software programs.
With this significant extension to RuleStream's current AutoCAD integration, AutoCAD software users can benefit from RuleStream's comprehensive approach to knowledge management which spans sales, engineering and manufacturing operations. By capturing engineering knowledge and using it to automate key business processes across the enterprise, RuleStream's clients have reduced internal operating expenses, shortened lead times, increased sales win rates and increased overall profitability. This integration with AutoCAD software will help custom and complex product manufacturers respond to customer-specific orders more rapidly, accurately and efficiently.
Developing on the RealDWG platform enhances RuleStream’s ability to serve companies that use AutoCAD software as their primary CAD system, or otherwise need to generate 2D drawings or 3D models as part of their sales quotation and order fulfillment process. With RealDWG, design rules captured within RuleStream will be able to automatically:
• Generate native AutoCAD documents that are fully compliant with Autodesk’s popular DWG file format
• Generate fully associative 2D drawings
• Generate 3D models
• Leverage the reusability of AutoCAD software dynamic blocks
"This partnership is a big win for the manufacturing customer. With the integration of RealDWG into RuleStream's SBE Enterprise software suite, the generation of engineering data has never been easier," said Eric Stover, product line manager at Autodesk. "Whether you're required to produce 3D models or 2D engineering data, RuleStream and Autodesk provide an unbeatable solution for your engineering needs."
"RuleStream is pleased to extend our existing AutoCAD software integration to bring even more value to the AutoCAD software user base - an important area of expansion for RuleStream," said Robert Nierman, chief executive officer, RuleStream. "Users of AutoCAD software will now be able to leverage our leading Standards Based Engineering (SBE) technology for their custom engineer-to-order operations as well as many complex new product development initiatives."
